Our Guide to Jaipur

Our Guide to Jaipur

Jaipur is a city we return to again and again. It’s where our block prints come to life, and over the years we’ve found a handful of places we love revisiting from quiet guesthouses to bustling markets and beautiful places to eat.

If you’re planning a trip, here are a few of our favourite spots.

Where to Stay

If you want to be in the heart of the Pink City, Abode Jaipur is a gem. Tucked within the pink walls, it places you right in the middle of the old city’s colour and energy. It’s walking distance from the City Palace and many of Jaipur’s most beautiful historic sites, which makes it ideal for exploring on foot. The rooms are simple but thoughtfully designed, and the rooftop is a real highlight.

For something slower and more relaxed, Namli Haus in Civil Lines is a wonderful retreat away from the bustle of the old city. It feels more like staying in a beautiful home than a hotel and is calm, spacious and incredibly welcoming. If you’re looking for somewhere to properly unwind after busy days exploring Jaipur, this is the place.

What to Do

One of the most beautiful places in Jaipur, City Palace is a must-visit. The architecture, colours and intricate design details are endlessly inspiring from the famous painted doorways to the courtyards and textiles inside the museum.

For something a little different, visit Albert Hall Museum. The building itself is stunning and it’s particularly magical in the evening when the whole structure is illuminated.

Just outside the city sits Amber Fort, one of Rajasthan’s most impressive historic sites. Set high on the hillside, the fort’s courtyards, mirrored halls and sweeping views make it well worth the visit.

If you’re an early riser, the flower market near the old city is a wonderful way to start the day. Vendors arrive before sunrise with piles of marigolds and roses, filling the streets with colour and scent.

Where to Eat & Drink

Perhaps Jaipur’s most iconic restaurant, Bar Palladio is known for its striking blue interiors and candlelit courtyard. It’s perfect for evening drinks, and the pasta is always excellent.

For a special dinner, 1932 Trevi offers a beautiful setting and delicious food. The atmosphere feels relaxed but elegant, making it a wonderful place to linger over a long meal.

Tucked within the gardens of City Palace, Baradari is a lovely spot to stop for lunch or a coffee while exploring. The setting is serene, surrounded by greenery and historic architecture.

For a real treat, book lunch at Rambagh Palace. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the gardens is a beautiful experience and the perfect place for a slow, indulgent afternoon.

Jaipur is a city full of colour, craftsmanship and history and these are just a few of the places we always return to when we visit.
